The 2025 AFTRA Retirement Fund Summary Plan Description (SPD) describes benefits available to participants under the AFTRA Retirement Plan. All current participants will receive the new SPD within the next few weeks.  The SPD will be sent either by mail to the verified address on record or by email to those participants who are registered portal users and have opted for electronic communications from the Fund.

As a participant of the AFTRA Retirement Plan (hereafter referred to as the "Plan"), we encourage you to take time to fully review the SPD as it describes the benefits available under the Plan including information about: eligibility, applying for a pension benefit, options for receiving your benefit payment, your rights under the Plan, survivor benefits and much more.

This updated 2025 Retirement Plan SPD provides current summary information about the Retirement Plan and supersedes all prior SPDs. To the extent that there is any conflict between the SPD and the AFTRA Retirement Plan document, the AFTRA Retirement Plan document shall govern. If the benefits outlined in this SPD materially change, a Summary of Material Modification (SMM) and/or a Benefits Update will be sent to you. You are encouraged to keep all Benefits Updates and SMMs with your SPD so that you always have the most current information about your Retirement Plan. Benefit Updates and SMMs can be viewed on our website by visiting www.aftraretirement.org ("News and Updates" | "Benefits Updates").

Remember that as a registered portal user, you can do any of the following directly in the portal:

  • If you are a pensioner:
    • Respond to your annual pension confirmation notices in the portal;
    • View your benefit payments history;
    • Opt-out of receiving monthly advice direct deposit statements;
  • Non-pensioner:
    • Generate real-time pension estimates;
  • All participants:
    • Update your address information;
    • Manage your communications preference;
  • And more.
