Full story: The AFTRA Retirement Fund will be processing and disbursing the first monthly pension payment of the new year on Jan. 1. For all participants who receive monthly benefit payments via direct deposit (also known as Electronic Fund Transfer, or EFT), please note that at the start of each new calendar year, benefit payments for Jan. will be reflected on Jan. 2 (or the first business day following the first of the month) .
For benefit payments distributed via standard USPS mail, your payment may not arrive until at least a few business days following the weekend or holiday. Please note that the AFTRA Retirement Fund encourages pension recipients to take advantage of the direct deposit/EFT option. To receive your payments via direct deposit/EFT, complete the Direct Deposit Authorization Form and return the signed form to the AFTRA Retirement Fund via email, fax or mail.
As reminder and as previously noted on our website— effective with the Oct. 1, 2023 payment, when the first day of the month falls on a Saturday, Sunday, or federal holiday (excluding the first payment of the year), your monthly pension benefit payment will be deposited directly into a bank or financial institution you choose on the business day before the weekend or federal holiday.
